Breast Cancer in African American Women: Is lack of screening the issue?

Women are affected by breast cancer more than any other form of cancer. It is the primary cause of cancer-related fatalities among women, particularly African American women, who experts say are routinely underdiagnosed and undertreated. African American women are subjected to disproportionate levels of breast carcinogens and are at the largest risk of significant health consequences because of the condition. Despite a worldwide decline in death rates, the incidence of breast cancer in African American women has increased over the last 20 years.
