TIPS FOR A BUDGET Savvy Vacation

In my opinion, traveling should not be considered a luxury but a necessity. However, for many, the mere thought of vacationing is anxiety-provoking. Trying to decide when to take time off, financial stressors, and incorporating kid-friendly activities can quickly drain you of your excitement. Planning a vacation may seem difficult, but it can be a breeze if you do a little research. The first thing you want to do is determine what you would like for your budget to be. Once you determine how much you are willing to spend, it becomes easier to narrow down places with that in mind. Your budget should include the mode of transportation to and from your destination, lodging, food, activities, and souvenirs. These items do not have to cost an exorbitant amount of money, but you should take them into consideration. Next, determine where you would like to go. If you are having a difficult time figuring out a destination suitable for you, a quick Google search may inspire you. Many bloggers provide information on trip planning and destination hacks. Depending on where you decide to go, some places offer free or discounted family activities. Choosing lodging that best fits your needs also has its perks. For example, staying at an all-inclusive resort takes the guesswork out of planning for meals. All-inclusive resorts also have certain amenities that include fun for the whole family! After deciding on a destination, it is time to score some deals! As a traveler, you have two options. Option one is to plan as far as you can in advance. This will allow you the opportunity to take your time to research on your own or contact a travel agent to do the work for you. It also provides you with the option to pay for your vacation over time. Multiple airlines and travel sites offer buy-now-pay-later options. If you have flexibility with your schedule, you can opt for last-minute deals. Traveling during certain days of the week is a less expensive option. Traveling outside of high seasons or holidays can also save you money. Some apps will notify you of flight deals to your dream destination as they become available. Lastly, go have fun and take in everything your destination has to offer. Your mental health will thank you for it!
