Wellness disparities result from injustices that impact the social determinants of health. These discrepancies lead to difficulties in accessing healthcare, equitable education, financial stability, and healthy communities and environments. Additionally, these factors determine an individual’s health risks and outcomes. As such, they also result in higher rates of illness and death in racial and ethnic minority groups when compared to their White counterparts.
