Introducing The Color of Wellness Institute: Transforming Healthcare with Culturally Intelligent Care

With a mission to increase health equity and tackle health literacy, The Color of Wellness Institute is set to revolutionize healthcare education and practice.At The Color of Wellness Institute, we recognize that healthcare is not one-size-fits-all. Minority communities and vulnerable populations often face barriers to accessing quality care, leading to disparities in health outcomes. That’s why our institute is committed to equipping healthcare professionals with the knowledge and skills needed to provide culturally competent care that respects the diversity of patients’ backgrounds and experiences.
“Our resources mean nothing without the healthcare workforce to back them up,” says Michelle G. Rhodes, Founder, MHS, RN (ret.). “The healthcare workforce is facing burnout and battling depression, yet they are expected to be increasingly mindful of others’ needs, wants, and desires. Not being able to do so breaks the trust of the patient.”
The Color of Wellness Institute offers a range of innovative training programs designed to empower healthcare professionals to deliver culturally intelligent care. From monthly free series on YouTube at Color of Wellness to monthly train-the-trainer programs, we provide comprehensive resources to help healthcare workers increase their awareness of internal biases, communicate excellently, and access culturally relevant resources to improve outcomes and decrease unnecessary expenditures.
In addition to traditional training methods, The Color of Wellness Institute leverages multimedia platforms such as podcasts and video streaming to reach vulnerable populations at their point of need. By meeting patients where they are and providing accessible, culturally relevant health information, we aim to bridge the gap in health literacy and empower individuals to take control of their health.
